The 2020 IUPUI Spring Career Fair will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2020, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., on the fourth floor of the Campus Center. Whether you're seeking internships, full-time jobs, or are just looking ahead to when you will be doing those searches, this event is for you!
How to prepare
This is the last campuswide recruitment event of the school year, so don’t show up just hoping for the best. Make sure you visit your school’s career services office to polish your resume and work on your introductory pitch to employers.
Download the Symplicity Jobs and Careers app, log in to your school job board, and look for career events on the home screen. The app will include employers attending, links to the company websites, what majors they are recruiting for, and any positions they have posted. You will also be able to view where employers are on the built-in map of the event.
What to wear
Dress as professionally as you can. A suit is best, but if your wardrobe is limited, business casual will do. Suits should be neutral in color (e.g., black, gray, navy) and fit well. A two-piece matched suit is always the best and safest choice. Even if you would or could wear jeans on the job or if the work environment is outdoors and a very non-suit environment, wearing a suit to the career fair shows you take the interview seriously as a professional meeting. IUPUI students are welcome to utilize Paw's Closet, which has professional clothing available for men and women. All you need is your Crimson Card.
What to bring
You should bring several copies of your resume to hand out to company representatives. A folder or binder and pen is also useful to take notes and to collect information from potential employers.
